National Mother Language Day.
There is a bloody history regarding our national mother language day. Before achieves independence Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan. And Bangladesh part name was East Pakistan. Mainly Pakistan has two part East Pakistan & West Pakistan and Language was Balgla & Urdu. West Pakistan always try to establish Urdu language will be the stat language for hole Pakistan. Due to this regards Pakistan was made an evil plan to destroy our Mather language, West Pakistan enforce to East Pakistanee people to comply Urdu as a only stat language. But Bangalee educated society and student society did not comply with their proposal, that's why began movement to keep continue Bangla language as mother language. And Many people include Salam, Rofique, Jobbar sacrifices their life this movement.
After passing a long time Bangalee fight for language NNESCO of the UNO ratified it in 17 Nov.1999 and declared international mother language day is 21 February on basis of Banglee mother language day. And from 21 Feb. 2000, worldwide celebrate it as international mother language day. Bangladeshi National mother language bay become International Mother language day. This is really a wonderful achievement for our nation.
Bangladeshi nation celebrate this day very respectively, its Government holy day, and school, college with other social organization arrange various type of entertainment events on that day. On that day people go to the "Shohid Miner" to known their respect to them who sacrifice their life for our mother language. we go to "Shohid Miner" empty foot, with various type flowers, and sing a song all together "Amar Bhai-er Rocte Rangano Akush-e February Ami Ki Bhulite Pari". All over the country in school, college, district and more placeses have a lot "Shohid Miner".
